George Brent Found! for His March 15 Birthday

Born on this date in 1899, the actor who co-starred with Bette Davis so many times that I thought today was Bette-day on TCM! They don’t help matters by capping their 8 movie Brent-Davis marathon with a Davis documentary, but the pair did appear in a total of 11 movies together and a few of them are some of Brent’s best remembered performances!

The Turner Classic Movies George Brent (and Bette Davis) birthday schedule for Friday, March 15, 2013:

  • 6:00 am – The Rich Are Always With Us (1932)
  • 7:15 am – So Big (1932)
  • 8:45 am – Housewife (1934)
  • 10:00 am – Front Page Woman (1935)
  • 11:30 am – Jezebel (1938)
  • 1:15 pm – Dark Victory (1939)
  • 3:15 pm – The Old Maid (1939)
  • 5:00 pm – In This Our Life (1942)

Following that marathon TCM airs the 1983 documentary Bette Davis: A Basically Benevolent Volcano at 6:45 pm.

And just for trivia’s sake, the remaining three movies that Davis and Brent appear in together: Special Agent (1935), The Golden Arrow (1936) and The Great Lie (1941)
