Turner Classic Movies kicks off it's August 2010 Summer Under the Stars programming with the films of Basil Rathbone filling 24 hours of airtime Sunday, August 1. It's Myrna Loy in the afternoon on TCM today with 1933's When Ladies Meet at 2:45 pm EST, followed by Loy with William Powell in Evelyn Prentice (1934) at 4:15, and Man-Proof (1938) at 5:45. Following this seemingly random selection of 30's films is the excellent Kathleen Turner hosted 1991 Loy documentary, So Nice to Come Home To.

Barbara Stanwyck was born Ruby Stevens on the date of this post, July 16, back in 1907. In celebration Turner Classic Movies is airing a marathon of Stanwyck's late 1940's and early 50's work throughout the day today up until 8 pm EST. ClassicMovieSearch honors Stanwyck by hunting down three old posts about her from inside the index, well actually one of the old posts is only 2 days old, but the Search still found it!

TCM airs a heap of biopics today including three in a row starring Mr. Paul Muni beginning at 6:00 EST with Juarez (1939), followed by The Life of Emile Zola (1937) and The Story of Louis Pasteur (1935). It's Muni in the last of those pictures that ClassicMovieSearch shows off today before hunting down three classic Muni pages from the past from within the Index.
